Description of the association
The Association of Hungary Scientific, Company and Industrial Editors is an organisation of journalists and editors of Hungarian company house magazine and newspapers, scientific and technical periodicals. We have 500 members who mainly work in two areas: in industry and in the media. They write about the life and activities of nearly two million people working in industrial and agricultural factories, and are responsible for technical writing relating to the industries in which they work. Nearly 30 % of our members are engineers, 45 % are journalists who are university or college graduates. The society was founded as a professional association in 1990, and now issues an international press pass to its members.
 
Our main objectives
• to exchange best practice ideas
• to discuss the latest techniques and matters concerning company internal newswriting and internal communication.
• the editing of the industrial and professional papers and the building of good internal communications
• to encourage vocational objectivity when writing for industrial and scientific journals
• to improve the training of our members Our services
• we organise vocational conferences, seminars and workshops
• we organise a once a year journalist academy which encompasses a range of related topics
• we organise press conferences
• we encourage our members to enter professional editing award competitions
• we award Communication Medals every year to managers who specialise in producing company and professional publications
• we circulate a printed newsletter and web site to inform our members - we publish a journal - The Hungarian Observer, Science and Technology in Hungary
