There were 198 entries to the competition in 2006, from 12 different countries – including, for the first time, entries from Croatia, Finland and Luxembourg.

At the FEIEA gala dinner held in Vienna on Friday 13 October 2006, the Grand Prix winners and runners-up received their awards from FEIEA President Birgit Snizek. More than 80 people attended the dinner, and the winners celebrated their success late into the night.
